OECTA

I’m man enough to admit when I’ve been hoodwinked.

I’ve been ragging on the Conservative campaign on this blog since the election started. However, I tipped my hat over what I considered to be a brilliant ad yesterday on this blog.

Ironically, my first thought upon seeing the ad was shock. I didn’t believe the hapless fools surrounding Harper were capable of such creativity and talent.

As it turns out, they aren’t.

The ad is indeed brilliant but it’s not unique. See the video at the top. It’s a carbon copy of an American political ad from the 2010 midterms.

This is their fourth election and the Harper team has yet to produce an original ad, idea or conservative belief.

However, the Tories lucked out. Ignatieff was also off message today because of racist comments made by one of his Quebec candidates.

Changing to Ontario politics.

The Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association are looting their members to build a slush fund to re-elect McGuinty.

This illustrates everything I hate about public sector unions.

Under Mike Harris, the Catholic school system achieved parity with the public system when the government brought in the new per-pupil funding formula.

The Catholic system received a massive injection of funds. My own school board received an additional 20% overnight.

There are many in Ontario who believe there should only be one publicly funded school system. They have a fair point. Why should one denomination be funded and not the rest of them in this day-and-age?

Regardless, Harris believed if there’s going to be two systems they should be equal. He did more for the Catholic system than any Premier in Ontario history yet OECTA is determined to defeat Tim Hudak.

Why?

Because Harris wasn’t some union bitch who could be rolled by the pimps running the labour movement.

He took power away from the union bosses and actually stood up to them. They don’t care about education. Union bosses only care about union power.

We’ve seen this time after time.

Why did they go after Harris in the mid-nineties but not Chretien even though Chretien made the most brutal (but necessary) cuts to the welfare state in Canadian history?

For the same reason OECTA hates Harris (and Hudak through association) even though he’s the greatest benefactor of the Catholic education system since Confederation.

They only care about power. They want a brainless puppet who will do as he’s told in the Premier’s Office.

Given the current eunuch who occupies the job, it’s understandable that the Union bosses would want to defend the status quo.

They don’t care about students. They don’t care about education. They don’t care about teachers.

They care only about power.

That’s what this Liberal slush fund is all about.

OECTA has no integrity, no honour and no chance of stopping the change that’s coming to this bankrupt province.

May those changes come soon.
